Hi,
I'm putting together a gaming PC and since I'm fairly new to building a system, I was hoping someone could help me out a little bit.
So far my build consists off (not bought yet):

  • Asus Maximus 6 Hero MB
Intel I7-4770 CPU(i picked i7 for the HT, also not the 4770K because i never overclocked before)
    Asus GeForce GTX 760
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-Ram 1600MHz
    Western Digital 1TB WD10EZEX 7200rpm 600MB/s
    PSU still unknown

So can anyone tell me if this is a good built or if i'm overkilling/bottlenecking with some component.
Also can anyone suggest a good PSU for this built.
I know it would help a lot.

Greets,
WF

Overclocking is not something you should be afraid of doing. It does make quite a difference in avg FPS, and it is actually very quick and easy to do. You could overclock your CPU and gain 10-15 fps in as little as 15 minutes. For the extra cash for the CPU K model and a cooler, it is worth it.

But if you don't want to try it than the build looks good. After a while when your performance starts to take a hit, throw in another 760 and you will be good to go for a few more years again.

If you want to use SLI grab a PSU around 800 watts, Seasonic, Corsair are good brands to pick from.

Oh and nothing is bottlenecked at all in this build
