I am going to start building a gaming PC, but not all at once. It may take me a whole year to buy everything I need to build the whole thing. (I already have a pretty decent computer so I am not in a rush, also doing it this way will not take such a chunk out of my wallet all at one time since I am aiming towards a higher end computer this go around.) So I was wondering what components, brands, and cases I should look to buy to build a gaming PC that could handle games coming out in the future and games that are already out like skyrim fully modded, shadow of mordor, and other games that may need a higher end computer. My budget for the whole thing would probably be from $1000-$1600. I am not sure what I can get for that. I have two monitors a keyboard and mouse so that should save me some money. I have a msi geforce gtx 660 graphics card, but plan on using something different for the next PC. Any ideas of what build I could buy for the budget? Also I am not sure if I should use an SSD from now on or not.

Get an SSD, it's definetely worth the money. I just move games I play a lot back and forth between that and the HDD. The SSD will boot faster too, it's a huge difference in performance.

Buying things over the course of a year seems silly unless it's things like cases. Something better usually comes along or the price of your purchased component will have dropped dramatically without you even using it.

Why not find the parts you want every now and again and just put the money somewhere along the way and have a wad of cash in 12 months and buy it all in one go?
