Hey guys, my mate wants to get a new pc because his current struggles to run modern games on the lowest settings. I don't know enough of the market these days (4 years ish since I built mine) so was wondering if I could get some help. The preferred website isn't a must, just removes fear of shipping costs. Assume we only have monitor, keyboard and mouse :)

Approximate Purchase Date: This week

Budget Range: 1400 AUD after shipping (1100 USD)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: https://www.ple.com.au/ (in AUD)

Location: Western Australia, Perth

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Thanks!

Builds using only PLE. Note click "Price breakdown by merchant". So, that you can see the lists on PCParticker and zero in on the PLE links.

This will make for a solid build.

Here is the same build with a smaller SSD with a large HDD. You get more storage capacity but less SSD room for games. Personally I'd rather have a larger SSD and less overall capacity for faster game load times. Although I don't keep many games stored. After I'm done with a game. I rarely replay them. With a fast internet connection. It doesn't take long to download a game off Steam you feel nostalgic for. I've never gone under 150GB free on my 500GB SSD.
