hi i am building first gaming pc and would like to know how compatible would these components be?

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 Quad-Core Processor 3.1 GHz 6 MB Cache LGA 1155

CPU FAN: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2)

GPU: nvidia geforce GT220 (already using this) would i need replace it?

SSD: OCZ Technology 128GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5inch

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3

Motherboard: AS Rock LGA1155 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 Quad CrossFireX and Quad SLI A GbE ATX Motherboard Z77 EXTREME6

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply

You will have to change you GPU..GT 220 is almost similar to intel HD 4000..i5 3450 is alright for gaming if you are not overclocking..if you are not going to overclock in the future just get an H77 mobo..they cost much less than the Z77..and i'm not sure about the PSU..Corsair and Antec are generally good PSUs..You can choose a PSU depending on the GPU if you intend to replace the GT 220..What is your budget?

You won't need an aftermarket CPU cooler in most cases, if you're not going to be overclocking. Maybe if you live in a hot location, otherwise the standard CPU cooler should be fine (which comes with the CPU).

Yeah I agree with this - for gaming that GT220 will do nothing. Unless you're using like a 1280 x 1020 resolution display. You need a modern GPU for gaming - the Radeon 7850 and 7770 are excellent cost effective solutions.

If you're not overclocking (and the 3450 doesn't have a unlocked multiplier) then you can skip the cooler and use the stock fan. I think on the original build I'd drop the SSD for a 500GB - 1TB hard drive and then add the SSD later on.

Everything's compatible, but there are some issues with that list. The CPU cooler and video card were already addressed above, but the motherboard and power supply need some more attention:

The Extreme6 is more motherboard than you need. It's designed for high overclocking and lots of expansion - that is, multiple video cards, RAID cards, wireless cards, etc. You can get the same functionality (since you can't really overclock the i5-3450) with a cheaper H77 motherboard, like the ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP.

As for the power supply, 700W is far more power than you'll need for that computer, and OCZ ModXStreams aren't the best power supplies for the price. Something like an XFX Pro 450W or 550W will serve you much better.

Also, do you have a case to put all that in?
