Gaming PC computer problems

I have recently tried to bulld a new computer. it is my first time, and I am experiencing problems with wiring and generally getting the computer to work. I plugged in the 24pin connector to the motherboard, after installing all other parts, and the PC did not turn on. I need help finding the problem.

I5 4460
R9 280x vaporx
2x4gb ram hyper Fury x
Asrock z97 anniversary
Hard drive from my old laptop
Nzxt s340
Corsair cx500
