Gaming PC First Build - Please review my list!

The goal of this build is to play most games on 1080 max settings and some ability to upgrade for video editing in the future.

I'd like to bring this price down to 1000, so please let me know where I can trim some of the cost (e.g. cheaper case, monitor, etc).

This is pretty much the best you can get for this price... There's not really a way to cut in the price if you plan to overclock. BUT if you don't plan to overclock you could change the motherboard for a cheaper one. My reccomendation IF YOU WON'T OVERCLOCK.

if you choose a cheaper motherboard, get rid of the ssd and use a cheaper case you will be perhaps $50 over your budget. if you did not overclock and went with the non overclocking i5 and a h97 board then you may be slightly lower as well.
