Good morning all. Looking to build a good gaming rig for 800 before taxes.

Parts to be purchased in the US.

No monitor, keyboard, mouse, or CD drive needed.

Wondering what you guys would suggest as im not very good at building.

Solution

Yes I do have to agree. This was an extremely known issue. IMO, Sapphire for AMD and ASUS for Nvidia 😛

You might need to update the BIOS but that shouldn't be a problem.

Something like this, I haven't included OS, if you really gotta buy it then r9 280/GTX 760 will be good enough.

this video card is the buggiest thing ever

What do you mean when you say `buggy`
because as far as I know, GPU´s can´t really be buggy

a huge percent of those gpus were defective. mine too

Was it already broken when you first installed it?
Or did it break after you used it, because these cards get crazy hot.

assuming you don't need OS

edit: better cpu to fill the budget

This. And if you can afford it, get a better PSU. Any of them from Antec, XFX or seasonic as long as they are above 500w would be good. Also a different GPU could be the STRIX 970 if you don't like the MSI for any reason. (ASUS has a higher stock clock and a backplate)

Press on the 1 star reviews and go to "Cons" . Almost everyone says "Artifacts"
And it wasnt a driver issue. It was a VRAM issue with this model that could never get fixed. Only solution was RMA

I dont tend to sound smartass. I just try to save this guy from wasting his money and time.
I wasted 1 month (because i sent it back and had no PC) with this GPU.
There was a forum topic in ASUS webpage and we were just too many users with the same problem.
I have nothing with ASUS, but this was a major fault of them.
i just want to save a life mate! :)
