I want to play Day-Z and G-mod at great graphics and fps. I will record my gameplay so I will be doing a bit of Photoshop and video editing. I want to stay under $1000 Canadian and if you can build the PC cheaper. I need OS, here is a setup that I have in mind, try and do it better or if I don't need it that good make it not as good, Thanks.

I know you want to stay under 1000, but please spend the extra cash. The 8320 is a massively under powered cpu, ranking below the i7 920. Spend the extra cash for an i5 build, that you can edit and game on.

But this shows differently, it shows that the 8320 is better, why is that than if you are saying the i5 is better?
You have to copy and paste the whole link for it to work it wont work if you just click on it

No, in any realword benchmark- including editing, gaming, etc the i5 with outperform any 8xxx or 9xxx series AMD cpu's. I don't hate AMD, but their processors are known to be particulary low end. On top of that, those are only TWO benchmarks.

I have been working on computers for quite awhile now, and am no beginner to processors. You will get triple the performance out of the i5, for every need.

would you say the i7 is the best CPU and what would Day-Z and G-Mod run at on this computer, also is getting an i3 worth it?

A new i7 processor would clearly be the fastest option - but I'd choose the i5 listed above plus an SSD over that any day. And Diox is right - I'd probably even pick a new Intel i3 over one of those 8320s. They sound fast, but will be slower in most applications, plus use way more power and produce way more heat.

I like his build above - but I'd say try and squeeze in a solid state drive! It'll make a huge difference.

But why a SSD and do you know what Day-Z and G-Mod would run at on this computer?

Installing your OS and programs on an SSD will make your computer feel so much faster. It will boot and shutdown more quickly, programs will launch in half the time, games will load faster, etc. You'll notice it a LOT more than upgrading from an i5 to an i7.

And yes, Day-Z and G-Mod and anything else will run very well on this PC. You'll be maxing almost every game out there running at 1080p resolution.

Would it be possible to make a gaming pc with an i7 for under $1000?
