Looking to build my teenage son his first gaming PC and need suggestions. I'm willing to buy a pre-built if I get more for my money?

Purchase in the next week from Newegg or Amazon in USA

<1K budget not including peripherals

Gaming, home office

I'll need to buy an OS

No overclocking. Fancy windows or lights aren't necessary

Mostly be playing COD, Fortnight, Minecraft, War of Rights, Roblox

Leaning toward a 27' 1440p, 170Hz monitor

Honestly wish you luck on that one. Terrible time to purchase a real "gaming" rig. If this is for productivity and playing I would look to a decent office type pc and a console.

@precisiontech keep his resolution @ 1080P unless you plan on going big with the gpu otherwise he's going to get crappy FPS. 24" is about the perfect size for 1080P. You can find a decent 120/144Hz gaming monitor for sub $200.
