Someone in my family wants a gaming pc within the next two weeks. I have been browsing around and based on the gpu prices rn I think I'm stuck recommending them a pre-built. I haven't been able to put anything together that could beat this as far as value goes https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberp...on-rx-5700-xt-1tb-ssd/6400453.p?skuId=6400453 . My plan is to buy it and swap out the power supply with my old evga g3 before I give it to them. I just couldn't find anything on the new end of things that would be better unless someone can create something that could beat it for the price point. Used parts are out of the question, and the person that I'm getting this for wants to get the parts from two sites at the very maximum. There also is a budget of about $120 for a monitor and this is what I found https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-proprie...ild=1&keywords=benq+ips&qid=1609728538&sr=8-1

Just seeing if anyone has any other suggestions, because at this current point in time I can't see this pre-built getting out performed because of the gpu.

Solution
Hi litaidd.

I just checked the system from the link. For 1200 dollars this is pretty good. I tried making it on PC part picker and this is exactly 1200 dollars.

The only thing I would be very worrying in that system is the quality of the parts. The motherboard is probably a cheap 70 dollars B450 and the power supply is probably a bronze PSU of cheap quality. The RAM is 3000MHz instead of 3600MHz for a Ryzen system. Storage is 1TB but they don't say the brand and model so could be the cheapest M.2 NVMe.

Pre-built is like that. They seems like a good deal and for the price that system is worth that and even more but just don't forget that they don't give you anything for free. What they did is put a 3700X with a RTX 3070 and...

Solution
The RTX 30XX series cards should be in stock en masse towards the end of this month. That board allows you to bump up that cpu using Asrocks BSB (base frequency boost) but you'd want an aftermarket cpu cooler for that. That Asrock board also has an M.2 KEY E slot for wifi 6 and bluetooth 5.2.

the build doesn't really help if the card isn't in stock, and the board also isn't in stock.
If you want the best FPS possible then wait a few weeks for those RTX cards to come in. If you don't care much about how many FPS you get then don't wait for those RTX cards. The thing is most people want more FPS for gaming builds.

Google RTX 3060 Ti review and see what you come up with. That card owns 1080P resolution or look at the graph I posted in my first post on here.

Said 2-Weeks. We will look at it after 15Jan. Tel him/her to hold it off for Little Longer. As soon as RTX3000 series prices Normalize purchase RTX3080 and combo it with R5 5600X or i5-10600K.

no one bothered to ask me if the system is going to be used for anything else besides gaming, and instead I just get some random parts list for things that are only imaginable because they aren't even in stock. my original question still hasn't been answered fully yet because you seem more interested in just making builds with out of stock parts as if you are building something for yourself without knowing anything other than its just a gaming pc. The only post that has had any sort of meaningful information has been the first post. my point still stands that the pre-built once i replace the power supply will still be the better option.

still no good advice from you
I posted a link to a thread pinned at the top of this forum on how to ask for build advice. If anyone here deserves to blow $2 grand on a prebuilt for 1080P its the likes of you. You might be the rudest person I've come across in this forum and that says a lot. Now feel free to vote this post down like you did with my other post on here.

you aren't that good at helping people. you are stuck on your own agendas
Listen dude, if tomshardware doesn't help you, how about you look at some other sites, yeah? You've been blatantly disrespectful to these community members who're just trying to help. Remember, no one is forced to help you, be grateful that somebody still does.
