Gaming PC from Scan. £1176.

Hello all,

I am in the market for a gaming PC. I can't build one myself. I'm too clumsy. It would be a disaster. I'm looking at Scan's 3XS series of computers. Here is the one I am interested in:

Click the "System Preview" icon. What do you think of that PC with a GTX580 added to it? Would it be able to run Crysis 2 at maximum settings?

Actually I've done more research on the GTX580 and apparently it isn't that good. Someone said that 2 x 6950's would be better?

I'd recommend that you build a Sandybridge rig instead of an X58. Try this one at scan: http://3xs.scan.co.uk/ConfigureSystem.asp?SystemID=1015

If you add a second 6950 add 160. You need the extra wattage to run a Xfire rig.

Okay, so here is what I'd be looking at:

CPU - Intel 2nd Generation "Sandy Bridge": Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz Quad Core overclocked to 4.7Ghz
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Mhz
2 x 6950 Crossfire
850 Watt PSU

As well as other stuff like the storage drive.

£1,219.

Quick bump, I just want to know if that's a good price or not. I've saved up a long time to be able to afford a gaming PC and I don't want to be spending too much if the parts aren't that good. I'm really out of the loop. Just need to know if it's a great rig for the money?

What are the make and model of the other parts?

e.g. Heatsink, PSU , Motherboard....

LOL you're right. I thought like all the modern motherboards did crossfire. Looks like the one the other dude suggested doesn't. Change that to 1 x 6950 then. The make and model of the parts can be found by clicking on the link and then on "System Preview"
