Hi. I am going to be building a PC and want to make sure that these specs are good for what I am paying.

The PCs specs are as follows:
Quad Core
Intel i5
3.10-3.40 GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT710 2GB HDMI Graphics Card
Pre-installed Windows 10 Home 64-bit

I'd love to from the experts.

Cheers,
Brad

Yeah the 2400 is not a very strong CPU, and neither is the GPU - virtually worthless IMHO.

Its not such a bad idea to go second hand, i bought my rig (hover over my badge to see) a couple of years ago, cost me £250 I have since buying...
It's fairly dated equipment, still, how much are you paying, and what do you want to use it for?
It will be very good for general office work and internet surfing, but the likes of the GPU will not stand up to any modern gaming.

EDIT: What i5 CPU is this? 2400?

So it is the 2400 and it comes to a cost of £323.

A budget PC but don't want to spend a lot of money.

Say the maximum amount of money I am willing to spend was £500, could you tell me what components would be the best to use?

Its not such a bad idea to go second hand, i bought my rig (hover over my badge to see) a couple of years ago, cost me £250 I have since buying changed the GPU, upped the ram, added an SSD and a aftermarket CPU cooler, plus a few other bits and it really flies. I am limited to the power of my CPU as it is 9 years old, but i plan on overclocking it in the very near future. I can still play most simulator games which i am personally into at high to ultra settings. This gives you an idea of old gear being dragged (kind of) up to date - as much as i can. So second hand is not such a bad idea.
£500 should buy you a very respectable used gaming PC that you can upgrade over time - IF you are not bothered playing top notch AAA games in all their glory.

Are you wanting to game, or just general plus a bit of gaming?

K.
