Thats my parts list.

My problem is after I've installed everything the Pc won't turn on. I looked at the motherboard in pitch black too see if theres a indicator light and there isnt one on.

I think the problem might be the standoffs, the case came with these black standoffs and they do not go though the motherboard like gold standoffs, the motherboards holes just sit on top of the standoff, I did have to apply some pressure when screwing the first couple standdoffs in. Everything is Brand New. I was working on Carpet since my house doesnt have any tiles besides the kitchen..but i was touching the case every 20 seconds or so to make sure I dont conduct.

any help guys?

well, easiest way as always is to take mainboard out of the case and test run it on top of the mainboard box or something equivalent.

Also there are a LOT of different types of standoffs of different colors, googling mainboard standoffs gives quite a selection of them. (And I have some that are seemingly not in first 500 images)

The biggest problem usually is that some standoffs are sometimes pre-set there by case manufacturer based on their guess what kind of mainboard you will use.
That is in no way indication that they are positioned right and extra care should always be taken to ensure that the standoffs match the designated holes on the mainboard. (no extra standoffs somewhere under the mainboard causing shorts)

If the setup runs outside the case, problem is somewhere in between.

standoffs can be gold, metallic, thin, fat or even lack the hole for the screw (rightmost one, it is kind of unique) but they can all work. they can also be made of plastic instead of metal but I don't have any of those to show.

So I fixed that, my problem was I wa s using a PCI wire instead of a 8pin cpu, then video wasnt appearing so I switch ram slots and now that's working, now the screen says "insert proper boot device and reboot or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

???

that pretty much means that the computer can't find OS, usually windows on the boot.
common issue since computer is new and you have not installed windows yet?

Easily fixed by inserting windows dvd to drive and booting, most computers can find it on default. (or usb drive to usb port)

I'm also new to this. I literally just got these parts and built this computer yesterday night, so I don't have an OS, I do have a product key. I looked up the problem on Google and everyone says it's the OS or go into the BIOS, how can I get in there?

Thanks in advance!

you can usually get to BIOS by pressing ESC, F10 or some other key, usually shown when you boot or alternately mentioned on mainboard manual.
You might need to keep pressing it a few times.
Product key is fine. if it is for windows 10, you can download installation media from:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install
if it is for windows 7 you can most likely get it from:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
if it's windows 8:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

although I kind of doubt either of those would work for OEM licenses (comes with computer, license usually glued to back of computer or some other hard to find place.)

I was able to dig through my computer files for the product key (helpful tutorial on youtube) now I'm just clearing up a flash drive to put windows 8 on it.

I do have a laptop that came pre-installed with windows 8

BTW what do you mean by this

although I kind of doubt either of those would work for OEM licenses (comes with computer, license usually glued to back of computer or some other hard to find place.)

Windows media recovery things usually don't work for OEM products, Original Equipment Manufacturer licenses are cheaper than normal windows and usually tied to the hardware they are installed on and lack a LOT of support from microsoft. (as far as tech support goes, updates and such are same as for everyone)
The idea is that the manufacturer (Dell, Asus, HP, or some other) provides the support and/or missing or replacing of installation media.

if the mentioned sites worked, all is good.

Yeah I just tried using a OEM product key and it didn't take it, I guess I gotta buy a windows key. After this I just update my graphics card via their website and im good to play Games from steam?

Thanks for the help too btw
