i've been playing my games before smoothly with no problems at all, but after a few months after buying my pc the fps gets really low and really affects my gaming. I didnt tweak anything with the settings on my games or my computer, so i dont really know what happened. My build is i3-4160, GT 730 and 4 gb of ram (pardon me if i use terms incorrectly or something, i have no idea with computers).

It might just be a loose cooler. The #1 problem with those Intel stock coolers is people mess up the push pins, and I bet you have. The push pin arrows point in the direction to loosen and remove the cooler. They are supposed to be turned opposite the arrows to lock the cooler in place. Is yours done properly?
im not really sure, but last time, idle was 65-70 C but then when i was gaming it was also the same temp. But my computer performs fine outside games, its just that after closing a really laggy fps game my computer kinda goes slow but goes back to normal after a while, so can it be just a degraded gpu?

No hardware does not slow down after time, software does. 65-70C is really high for idle. I doubt it's the same temperature while gaming. What are you monitoring temps with? When you alt-tab out of a game it'll cool down so you may not see actual in-game temps unless you use a program like MSI Afterburner that has a graph that shows the past minute or so.

i use an application called real temp, but i have to alt-tab to access it so yeah it mightve been cooling down when i do so haha. Since you said only software slows down over time, does that mean i dont have to buy and replace any hardware? but im still planning on buying a better cooler for the high temp
