Gaming Problem - Framerate Loss/Stuttering

I've had this computer for about 2 years now, and over the last 2 months or so I've been having some strange frame loss/stuttering problems while gaming. I'm playing on mostly low settings in Starcraft 2, League of Legends and CS:GO

Sometimes as often as every 10 seconds or as intermittent as every 2-3 minutes, i'll get these random lockups where my games freeze for about 1-2 seconds. It feels like latency almost but I don't think it is. I haven't changed my connection setup at all before or since the problem started.

What hardware problems should I look for? I'm running the games with about 3 gigs of ram to spare, and at 10-15% CPU usage when I play. Could it be a hard disk or driver issue?

i can't see the right side(from the front) of the case from your link. if your gt530 is passively cooled or your case lacks front/side inlets for air flow, heat might build up inside. if your pc's warranty period is over, you might want to open up and clean the insides with a can of compressed air. before that, check the temperatures with a monitoring software like cpuid's hwmonitor or coretemp or piriform's speccy. even better if you have an infra-red thermometer or such device. also backup your important data.

Right side has no vents. I'll download the monitoring software tomorrow and run it when I play. Any of the three you recommend?

sorry, i meant left from the front. the right side it behind the motherboard where very, very few cases have vents. from asus' website, i noticed that the left side has perforation for airflow. but i couldn't see if the front of the case has any area to take the air inside the case. in addition to that, asus states that the psu has 385w peak power, not continuous. while this is not much of an issue with a card like gt530, it makes me suspisious of the psu quality.

i use all 3 in varying degrees.

now the software part: have you installed anything new recently? are your drivers, o.s., game patches up to date? sometimes antimalware/software updates can interfere with reliable operation.
