i5 2500k, 8GB of nice low latency RAM. 120GB SSD, WD Caviar Black as the HDD. GPU depends on your preference and resolution that you game at. After that we can decide on the PSU.

For the current RAM, you can go to AsRock website, find your motherboard there and check the memory support list and see if your RAM is supported or not.

Well now I'm kinda thinking future proof. This board has PCI 3.0 support, so idk if I should wait for the ivy bridge and 7000 series or what. I do have a pretty decent SSD and a 750 watt power supply already... I like to max everything out and run around 1900x1200 resolution, So I figure I can get by pretty well with a solid single card solution. What single card solution is faster than crossfire 5870s though?

i would go for the sapphire 6950 toxic edition as this can be easily unlocked to the 6970 with a flick of a switch, great power for the price, plus its the most powerful single card in its own league.
