So, i've picked up components for an AMD rig and an Intel rig. I'll list them here and i'll only build one of them. My question is which one is better for gaming and, in the future, a little bit of video editing? I'm always open for recommendations and advices. Thank you!

-AMD-
CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x
GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 super XC ultra
MOBO: ASRock x570 Taichi
COOLER: Noctua NH-D15
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb 3600mhz
PSU: Corsair RM750x
STORAGE: Samsung 970 evo plus 256gb (for windows), Seagate Barracuda 2tb
CASE: Meshify C

-Intel-
Basically the same things except the CPU (i9 9900k) and the MOBO (Gigabyte z390 aorus-pro)
P.S. I want to overclock too.

Solution
1080p 144hz but maybe in the near future i'll try 1440p
At 1440p the gpu is far more important. I’ve got a 3700x with 2080 Super and game at 1440p and the gpu is the limiting factor in all games I play. If you look carefully at the gaming benchmarks for CPU’s they use a lower resolution and high end gpu to create the maximum difference in FPS. If you were aiming for 1080p and high Hz with a 2080or above then you could notice a benefit with Intel. However with a lower gpu and/or higher resolution the difference in negligible or nonexistent.

If your aim is ultimately 1440p 144Hz then I’d go 3700x and with the money saved by not going with a 9900k get a 2080 Super. You really need as much gpu power as your budget allows. I was in...

I was in a similar position when I built my system and I still believe I made the right choice. Don’t forget a Ryzen setup can run on a much cheaper motherboard and cpu cooler.

What motherboard do you recommend for a 3700x or 3800x?
