The monitor is reliable, and is only 100 dollars for full HD

After rebates and savings, the total is 761.57, which is slightly above your budget but I believe is worth it. . IF you are wanting to upgrade in the future, you will have to get a better MoBo now because this MoBo could potentially result in bottlenecks, but appears to still be good. It would be nice to know a bit more about you play than just skyrim, I'm guessing you also play fallout if you play skyrim though ;)

Haha yes love fallout. I am an older games player (d&d pc) but fell out of and into consoles but after hearing everything is dumbed down I want to come back. I have a monitor lined up already but I will keep that One in mind just in case. So with that hundred what would you change up? I found the proper way to ask so I edited my original message : P thank you for my first reply here!

No worries I'm planning to buy tomorrow morning. Or this morning? Monday morning haha. Okay I guess I will go with that one! So Honestly with the monitor in I can go to 800 as that was the final including the monitor I was going to buy. 723 is better than I was expecting, was waiting for the if you do it do it right and spend x amount of dollars thunderbolts from heaven type stuff, I love that this forum is really helpful! So I get gpu is more impotant than cpu; but quad-core is better to keep it up to date for a little bit longer. You want to go with a great mobo because upgrading includes a new OS and stuff? Correct me if i'm misunderstanding please. I've been reading up around here since I thought about a self build and that's where I am at so far...

Alright so with that 39 dollars is it doable to upgrade the Mobo or is that out of the question? Would I be better off holding onto that for some other accessory I might want later or something like that?

Here, comes out to $780, unless you live near microcenter in that case its $755. You get a good monitor, 1080p, 7870 which will play any game on high or even max if you overclock it, and a quad core cpu. Feel free to change the case/monitor as you have $20 leftover from the $800

oh balls I forgot to include storage :( I included a 1tb hard drive, which was a bargain. This should be able to play the best games on high for the next two-three years

Hmm maybe if you go with the monitor coldice suggested there since it's a $40 difference? Or is there really a greater level or resolution or other reason for the price? Real question not sarcastic I promise :) I see the better video card in the build so the price there is justified. Is there a large difference in sapphire and HIS in that regard?


EDIT: Ah ok I see the 2ms response as opposed to the 5ms response mostly for the monitor? Is that a huge deal for single player or multiplayer friendly stuff? Nothing like Black ops 2 or anything like that.

Oh I dig that Zalman monitor. Check on that one haha. Another question was one of you guys went for the 500w and the other for the 600w power supply. Is it just the specific build? Or being overly cautious? Or just having those extra 100w for any other upgrades?

PS Holy Moly I actually DO live by a microcenter lmao


Also 2 issues i'm running into: 1 the patriot memory you suggested is out of stock on amazon. Any other memory suggestions? 2 I see this compatibility issue on the partpicker site:MSI Z77A-G41 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Rosewill Blackbone ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.

The Rosewill case is about the same price as the 200R, both will work, but I trust Corsair more than Rosewill.

About Karma, you can select one of my posts as best answer : there is a link at the bottom right corner of each post I believe.

The saving from the locked CPU is only about $40, which is not enough to upgrade anything and I would stick with the K-series CPU because you can milk more performance from it than it gives at stock clocks.

Best answer it is then sir. I suppose it IS better to swallow the extra 40 for a better piece of hardware. And the 754.48 is from buying from Micro instead of amazon right?
