I am looking at buying components and/or building a gaming system that will run MSFSX and X-Plane 10 with no issues at max frames 35-40 fps. The kicker is that I am also going to use the computer to run dual duty as a home PC AND based on my setup, I need 4 monitor support as I am wanting to run 3 monitors for the view and 1 monitor for instrument panel.

Currently, I have 1 large Hans G 32" monitor with HDMI and another generic 19" with DVI and I would like to re-use them if at all possible. .

I found a computer on Craigslist, and wanted to get your thoughts on the unit for a $1200 price. Will it work for what I want to do with the great frames? Additionally, what would you do so that it would function as a home PC as well? A second HD that would be dedicated to MSFS and/or X-Plane?

Currently, I have an old Alienware computer (will never buy from them again) that was top of the line from 2005 that has a 650W power supply with great airflow and cooling, but the rest of the PC would need to be replaced.

Here are the specs of the system:

Here is what it has:

Cooler Master Storm Scout Black Steel Case / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer
i5-2500k Sandy Bridge overclocked to 4.0GHz (runs extremely stable)
2 Radeon 6850 1Gb 2560bit GDDR5 PCI Express running in Crossfire
Corsair 650W PSU 80-Plus Bronze Certified
1.5Tb 7200 RPM Western Digital Black - boots up extremely fast
MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
8Gb G.SKILL RipJaws X Series DDR3 RAM
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ 120mm long life CPU cooler
LG CD/DVD Burner
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Don't buy that PC, you can do better for the money. Don't reuse that PSU from the alienware (It's old and probably poor build quality too). Post the pics the the Alienware the external and internals with a focus on where intake/exhaust is so we get an idea if it had proper airflow. I honeslty don't have much faith in their products as they seem to go for bling rather than performance.

Are you expecting to buy a computer to max out the FPS along with the purchases of the 2 additional monitors or is the $1200 just for the Tower? Are you willing to OC?
