Solution
i see, simple answer is your rig is still quite decent. there are things you could improve upon let me list them down for you:

first off is GPU, though i know it can still play recent games, i think it's already struggling on high graphical settings, a possible option now is that you can get a 970 which will outperform your 6970s plus it has dx12 support for future gaming
OR wait for about a week or so for AMD's release of new cards and check their performance

Adding an SSD would be nice, very good time to purchase one since prices are low right now.

your CPU is still very capable though i think it'll just be another 2-3 generations left for it, it might be next step upgrade for you since skylake for intel and zen for amd are just...
So, do you experience any problem with it? What is your intention by this posting? What are you playing and what do you want achieve? Try some of the benchmark utilities (like something from Unigine) and in game benchmark tools (like in GTA V, Tomb Raider). Do you want upgrade and you don't know what?

What sort of games are you playing as well? If I could upgrade anything there it would probably be the ram because going off of the idea that you want the 64 bit version of Win8?, that already takes up 2GB of RAM. This leaves 4GB for games, which is okay but chances are you're also running background processes such as an antivirus... and may make the image stutter!

Solution
no prob! also consider what @ProtoAMP also said, though i haven't consumed more than 6GB of RAM in my system since im the kind of person which hates apps running the background, you might want to get another 3x2GB kit but it must be the EXACT same one as you have currently to avoid issues, or get a 3x4GB kit and just sell/dispose your current one.
