Okay im constantly changing my mind due to different reviews lol so im building a PC within the next few months. First things first i will definitely be trying to overclock. i will be doing heavy gaming, internet usage, video editing here and there, but mostly gaming. I want to be able to play ultra settings on modern and future games so keep that in mind. Some of the things im definitely getting are:

Evga GTX 780 SC w/ ACX Cooler
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB or 250BG ( Need help deciding which is better )

Things i have:
I have a NZXT Phantom Full tower
1 TB HDD

SO .. heres where i need help.
Motherboard: Dont want to spend a crazy amount of $$ ( 200-300 is fine i guess )
Im looking to buy a good quality motherboard, meaning i dont really want to have to deal with random things happening like something blowing out or needing to upgrade. So thats why i was looking at the Asus Maximus VI Formula. I know the Maximus vi hero is cheaper and the only major difference is the armor and some other thing im not sure what its called lol. i do love the whole look of the formula one, & the extra usb ports is always a plus. Also it feels more " future proof " to me. & before you jump down my throat, i know theres no such thing as future proofing lol ; P. Any ideas on whether to get the Maximus formula or the hero, or maybe a total different one.

RAM:
I was thinking about getting the G Skill Ares ( 2 x 8 ) DDR3 1866 RAM. Im not sure if theyre compatible. Ive been changing my future rig so much lol

CPU:
I started off wanting the i5 3570K because of the great reviews and what not. but im leaning back and forth between z77 and z87 im like confused on which to choose. it was either the i5 3570K or it i7 4770. Ive never overclocked ever but the idea of pushing my equipment to run things even more smoothly makes me want to try. So keep that in mind when helping me pick out a CPU. Also, a good enough cooler to keep things cool. I was looking at the Corsair Hydro Cooler H100i. Idk whether its good or not. so help me there haha

PSU:
I usually go for 750W PSU's so a good reliable 750W is what im searching for. I was looking at the XFX 750W Pro Black edition 80+ Gold.

All in all, i hope what i picked is good enought to last me atleast 5 years or longer. I know as the years progress there will be more upgrade paths, but seeing as i will definitely be getting a gtx 780 i know ill be set for atleast 4 of those years.

Solution
the z77 mb and cpu are going end of life. the 1150 z87 have replaced the older ib. in a few months the haswell refresh will drop. also the newer nvidia maxwell gpu will be dropping. the power supply you have is fine for one card if you thinking of sli or crossfire bump it to 850w unit.

Im gonna be ordering my i7 4770k tomorrow & the cpu cooler but Im still stuck on which i should choose. I know i wont gain much from OC to 4.5ghz while gaming but i do use the internet & i do some editing too. Id like for my temps to stay atleast under 50-60 degrees.

I hear a lot about the h100,h100i & h110. Also the Noctua & evo. The noctua is so ugly so im like ehh about it lol. Id like to not spend too much on it either, atleast $100 should be good. Oh & the ram is getting me confused too, i was gonna go with the g skill sniper gaming ram 16gb 1866. Are those fine with this setup?
