last time i was looking at computer parts 1366 was just coming out and was amazing but that was a long time ago so i need help for a gaming rig for under 2k with monitor no peripherals. this came out to 1,582 on newegg.com

what i need help with is a mother bord and a power supply for all of this. i know gigabyte is good so is asus but wasnt sure what ones to start lokin at. and for power supply i figured 850w gold modular is good if it will fit in the budget.

sli is a not now but maby in a year or 2 ill upgrade with another 680 when the price goes way down. overclocking is a probably not unless i find someone local that can do it for me.

Any reason why you chose a micro-ATX motherboard? Seems like a waste on a full-tower case. |:

EDIT: You might also want to consider 8gb of RAM at least, considering your budget.

And if you're open to OC'ing in the future, getting the 'K' version would be the right choice.

by about 55%??? more like 92-95% in most games.

anyways... there are a couple of things that can be improved:

*Case: Phantom 410.

*PSU: a decent 750w PSU will more than enough to power and overclock that system and even more.

*there is absolutely no point in getting a fast storage HDD, a RAID-0 configuration of dual Samsung spin-point F3 will outperform it by a lot OR you can use one for storage and the other one for direct gameplay recording.

*the vertex 4 is faster, it has 16GB more and its one penny cheaper :kaola:

ok so i need to see if i can save on some parts to go with dual 670s for the little extra over a 680.

whats wrong with a micro motherboard if its almost the same as the big one only cheaper?
