What are good motherboards that would be a good start for a gaming rig?

I'll go off that and list a couple other things that might work with it.

Currently undecided mate. I was hoping someone could just list a couple good gaming mobo's that I could expand on, e.g add the new Core i7 920 with 4gb DDR3 ram and a decent GPU card NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 465 1024MB GDDR5. I'm interested in learning to build computers.

I have a limit of about $1,000 Australian dollars. Hopefully I can turn around and sell what I've made for a profit.

The gtx460 1gb cards are MUCH better than the gtx465. Any x58 board will do...I like ASUS or Gigabyte

i7 930(you can get with the same price of 920)-6GB DDR3 1333/1600MHz RAMs(have a look at G.Skill Ripjaw series) along with a GTX 460(much better buy than GTX 465) is a decent config for gaming.

A complete X58 rig with good components is going to cost $1,100 - $1,200 Australian dollars w/no OS.
