Question Gaming ROMs don't fit the screen ?

I just now started getting the Pi 4 going again after a few months working.
As for the ROMs, is there away to get the game display to fit the screen. at first when i started going through my roms after installing them on an HDD, i started noticing the games didn't fit the screen.

If you use retropi just google retropi emulator display settings and look for aspect ratio. Otherwise do the same search for whatever frontend you use.
Most use retroarch so if you find out how to get into retroarch settings you can do it in there.
Using a keyboard it's pressing F1 while a game is running, using a controller will depend on the distro.
