I recently received a Gateway GM5478 Desktop Computer. It has a Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT Video Card in it. I will list all other specs below. I tested Black Ops 1 on it and it was good but started to stutter and slow down. I was wondering if this computer could handle a better graphics card without it overheating, overloading, or requiring other parts to handle the new graphics card, based on the specs? And if so, what is the highest graphics card you would recommend for games like Black Ops 1 & Splinter Cell Conviction. Nothing hardcore like Crysis 2 type of gaming.
