Hi guys! I ordered 2 of these bad boys for my crossfire configuration:

My only question is will there be some sort of gap between the cards on my board?

I hope they won't be right ontop of each other like this:

*note* not my motherboard and not my cards.

If the cards need to be inserted into the dark blue/grey PCI-E slots then we might have some trouble.. these are big cards. Anyone know if this is or will be a problem? Thanks :)

Unfortunately this is the correct configuration for crossfire.

If you install the second card in the bottom (ie black) PCIe slot, it will run at x4 speed. This will decrease performance.

Also, if you install the second card in the bottom, I don't think the crossfire bridge will reach that far. You can get extended bridges, but as I mentioned, performance will decrease.

Your motherboard has 2 slots between the upper 2 PCI-E x16 slots so no, it will not be like in the picture you posted. There will be a slots worth of room for the upper card to get some air.

Yeah, I have a slot between them for air. The board supports tri configurations, so where the third board would be in a tri setup, I have empty for airflow. I can't get crossfire setup though. I can't find anything in ccc where I can enable it. GPU-Z sees both cards and is monitoring the temps for me, but says crossfire in disabled. I don't know how to enable it...

I'll look into this, but I'm unfamiliar with using safe mode. I know I've been there a few times, but it's usually for a bad reason. Let me work up the courage to try the new software in safe mode and see what happens. Do I have a way to enter safe mode when the BIOS loads up?

Thanks.

In a holding pattern. Got the two toxics and unlocked the shaders on both. But I can't get crossfire to work. Latest tech support is saying crossfire can't be done on my board. That means three people that said it can and now one person that said it can't so it's apparently going to higher authority as I now own two of them...
