Gateway CPU Upgrade dx 310x

Current CPU is Pentium D running at 2.2 Ghz. Can I upgrade the CPU to a faster unit.

Upgrading the CPU in a system that old won't get you much better performance as the motherboard is only compatible with CPUs that match that socket, etc. What do you want/need to upgrade it for?
