It will take any SSD no problem. You'll probably need a 2.5" adapter for it to fit into the 3.5" bay though. As far as other upgrades like a video card, that depends mostly on the motherboard (has to have a PCI express x16 slot), and an adequate power supply. From experience, most mass-manufactured PC's only have 300 to 400 watt power supplies (there are exceptions, but that's the average). The stock PS probably wasn't designed with a discreet graphics card in mind, so you'd have to choose a card that has power consumption that your PS can supply. Also, the PS might not have any PCIe power plugs on it (6-pin, or 6+2 pin), which any high-end GPU will need. You'd probably be better off upgrading the PS to something with higher output...
