Gateway FX6800-01e

Hi i purchased a Gateway Fx6800-01e, and recently i purchased windows 7 ultimate 64 OEM which should be arriving soon.
I'm wondering what files i'm going to need and/or chipset drivers since i dont see any from gateway, i also upgraded to 12 gigs of ram and a 5870 video card over the stock 4850 😛
Any help would be greatly appreciated or links to the files too.

Don't rely on Gateway for drivers... find out what chipset it has and go to the manufacturer's website.

OEM provided drivers are usually a waste of time. Like Zoron said, go to the manufacturer instead.

cpu-z will identify the chipset/mobo for you hopefully, unless gatewayhave fiddled too much.

It looks like Gateway posts an earlier version of this INF under support for the FX6800-01e. They list it as the Vista64 chipset drivers for this machine.

Good luck and please post how you make out, I have one of these bad boys too and struggle with Vista daily.

hey Themacattack5 i was wondering how did u manage to fit the 5870 into the gatway fx 6800 case. does it fit ? did you need to change anything?

cuz i have a gateway 6800 to and i wanna upgrade my stock 4850 to a 5870 and i really gotta know if i should buy it . cuz im not sure if it will fit?
