I have a Gateway HD2201 monitor that I hooked up a game console to with HDMI. The problem is that the console will only output 16:9 video, and the monitor is 16:10. Rather than scale the screen and make small black bars on the top and bottom, or even stretch the picture slightly to fit, the monitor decided to scale it by cutting off the ends of the signal, so I'm only seeing part of the picture. The monitor has a screen scaling option in its menu, but that option is always grayed out and unusable.
Also, while the monitor has an audio out port, it doesn't seem to send anything to the speakers I have plugged in. I'd really like to fix these; does anyone have any ideas? Here's a manual I found for reference (though it doesn't seem that helpful, and is really for a slightly different model. But as far as I can tell, this is the one that shipped with the monitor).
