what is the maximum memory for Gateway laptop 722 series

I assume have a NE722XX laptop. I couldn't find anything definitive from the gateway website, but 3 other sources said that 8GB was the max (2x4GB).

@horseshoe Yes, NE72208u was one of the ones I looked at and 6GB (1x4GB and 1x2GB) is the standard configuration. You can get a 4GB SODIMM for $30 ish, pull the 2 GB stick and replace it with the 4 GB stick. Would it get you much? Meh. I guess it depends on the issues you have been having.

Do you use this laptop for any 3D applications (games)? If this just a internet/email computer, then I would consider going into BIOS and lowing your frame buffer size to the minimum size (you might be using upto 2GB of RAM right now).
