I was able to use the internal webcam when I got the laptop sometime between 2 yrs ago & now (not sure when or why) it has stopped working. I did not need it until now LOL I am unable to contact Support because my warranty is expired...I have completed troubleshooting tasks, there is no Imaging Driver in Device Manager! I have also attempted to download drivers from the Gateway pg however, I do not have office so I extract files through Google Drive...this has not worked, maybe I am unsure of the driver needed. I have also ran into multiple "driver support" options online that all want remote access & hundreds of dollars. I know there is a better more simple way!! I should add that it was Wind.8, I upgraded to 8.1..not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Can you help PLEASE!

Solution
There should be no extra drivers needed to run your webcam, those should be part of windows. The bad side of that is the likelihood is great that your webcam has become faulty (it's not uncommon). There is good news though which is that a replacement should not be very expensive (and even less expensive if you replace it yourself). YouTube should be helpful for disassembly/repair information.
