gateway upgrade project

i asked about upgrading a old gateway tower and was told it was not worth the time. well i like a challenge , and have started it anyway. the question that i have is will the power button work on any motherboard or will i have to buy and replace it .https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206814939924190&set=pcb.10206814941884239&type=3&theater

I'm afraid you are over your head with this project since you don't know following basics: power button is just a momentary push button, normally open switch. If connectors are not right you can change them. Even door bell button would work.
