Gateway wireless turned off

I have a gateway NE71B and the wireless capability has turned off and I have tried everything to get it back on and going and nothing is working. when I go to see if it is turned on the wifi is shaded.. this is the second time this has happened to me and I don't remember how I fixed it the last time...
