GB 7600gt drivers crash with WIN XP Profi

I dunno where is the problem but when I'm installing drivers, it shows Blue Screen of Death and automatically reboot system. In safe mode, it accomplished successfully but when I reboot, windows doesn't run and shows up BSOD again.

os: Win xp profi SP1
video card: Gigabyte nVIDIA 7600gt 128MB

need more info on your system.
did you just purchase this card?
if so slap the old one in and hit F8 during boot and select restore to previous state .
get sp2 in there.
what sise psu do you have ?

I've bought it a few days ago...I can run windows in safe mode but while I go normal mode it restarts.

Make sure you have the 4 pin molex connector pluged in (extra power for video)
SP1 may be incompatable with drivers.
will the computer boot after you uninstall drivers in safe mode ?
if so sp2 and then nvidia drivers in that order .

I have downloaded SP2 and it doesn't solve my problem. Now it pops up window with notice that driver what I want to install isn't Designed for Microsoft Windows XP. I think older drivers doesn't support my card. What shall I do?

go to the maker of your card (evga ... ect)
download latest drivers.
lets hope that 7600 gt is not the culpret.

There's the problem that official drivers aren't released yet.

Mmmmm do you need the manufacturers drivers?!

Normally on installation, Windows should see the card anyway. Then just download the latest drivers for your card from www.nvidia.com

Did you try to update your bios yet?

have you made any progress at all ..no more bsod ?
no more safe mode ?
sp2 still has updates since you just now installed sp2 .if your able to run windows normally then get the rest of the updates and use the install disk driver for that card.
if still in safe mode .
try another gpu.

Since I upgraded to SP2 it says the drivers that you want to install aren't "Designed for Windows XP"...and rest you know.

not the first time ive seen that report.
thats xp for you .I have in the past installed them anyway with out any problems but thats me.
the other responses here list good points.
bios.
motherboard drivers.
you may have conflicting devices like drives.
conflicts of previous video drivers.that may still list in the registry.
seldom do you look at the hardware first.
XP is not forgiving with hardware uprades that are major.

Yup im getting the same problems installing drivers for evga 7600GT ko
system starts to install the drivers... then the BSOD comes up really fast and system restarts.

im running:

cpu temp @ 30c idle

Gpu 1 @ 54c idle

maybe compatiblity problem here somehwere or something? ram not good enough? bad temps? or just a crappy part somewhere? i dunno, any help would be greatly appreciated , thanks.


ive gotten lucky once or twice to get the drivers to install but when i run games when i do accualy get to sucessfully install the drivers , the games will freeze my whole system or sometimes the display driver will stop responding totally and turn everything into 8 bit color.

Hmm... I get the same problem with the bad timing of the RAM mostly the 1T command cause it but even it seems you have some problem with VGA you have to check the settings at the BIOS, try the default setting or something, maybe it could help!
