I have got chance of some American Gameboy Advance games cheap Am I right
in thinking that there will be no problem with these been played in an
English GBA , ie theres no difference as in PAL or NTSC ?? your thoughts are
greatly appreciated

Yes, there's no difference as in PAL or NTSC.

However, if you plan to connect two games together, i.e. two Pokemon
games, both have to be from the same region. Apart from that,
everythings fine.

yes. no problem, the GBA is universally compatible

You're wrong there, this is only the case when you have two games with a
different language.
If they're both English, they'll work fine.
