Ge Force 4 Fan

I see the mounting points for the heatsink on the ge force 4 are further apart than previous cards by a centimetre or so.
having just bought a waterblock for my GF3 im not too impressed.
come on nvidia thats a bit unfair to people who enjoy voiding their warranty?

yeah, well assuming that you enjoy voiding your warranty, you might feel like modding that waterblock...maybe make the holes a little bigger on each side so that you would end up with an extra centermeter...
but that is weird that they made it different...
you would think that they would be able to fit it in the same package...
btw, where did you get this detailed info?

Hi Jhon,
I havent seen any specs for this card but looking at the picture of the GF4 you can see the two mounting lugs are parallel to the ends of the AGP connector and this isnt the case with other cards. I hope this is just the photograph playing tricks on me. As yet I havent thought how I could mod the Danger Den W/B to accomodate the difference in size. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has one of these GC's in their possesion to measure what the holes really are.
