Geforce 1080 with Intel i5 4690 proceseor

Hey everyone.

I built my gaming pc in 2014 and it is now starting to show its age with struggling to lag in certain high intense games such as BF1 and new Tomb Raider.

I'm looking to get some help on what i need to get upgraded?

My current pc spec is a - core i5 4690, 16gb ram and msi geforce 770 4gb oc.

Ideally i want just to update my graphic card (possibly with a geforce 1080 retailing at £450) but im concerned my CPU is not good enough? At this point in time im looking to spend no more than £500 so whether my current CPU can be used for a few months with a 1080 GPU? Or shall i look to get a cheaper GPU with an improved CPU?

In BF1 your cpu is probably limiting your performance. I have a 4670k overclocked to 4.3Ghz and it cannot hold a minimum of 60fps in BF1 and some other games. For current AAA games quad core is now entry level.
