[SOLVED] GeForce 3080/3090: Do I need to upgrade the 750W PSU I just bought in April and to what capacity?

I just built a gaming computer back in April. At the time I decided to reuse my old Nvidia GTX 980 Ti after reading that I was better off waiting for the 3000 series GPUs rather than the 2000 series that were out already. Naively, I didn't skimp on any single component aside from the damn PSU. Now I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my Corsair RM750x, but I don't want to have to do it again -ever- for the 8+ years I plan on keeping (the majority) of this computer lol.

I have a Threadripper 3970x. Here's a list of most of my components in a PSU calculator with the GeForce RTX 3090: https://outervision.com/b/CWRWdI. It's recommending an 828 W PSU. But here's the thing, that's based on the calculator's Threadripper 3970x default Vcore of 1.1 V. Looking at CPU-Z the core voltage of my CPU at idle seems to fluctuate between 1.16 and 1.372. If I use a Vcore of 1.37 V in the calculator all of a sudden I'm up to a 969 W PSU. And this is all at idle, I plan to start gaming once I get a new GPU.

What should I do? Get a 1000 W PSU? 1200 W?

Thank you

What are the symptoms of an overdrawn PSU? I'm ok waiting to see if there is an issue as long as I don't risk damaging anything.
Modern high-end PSUs have some headroom on them even over rated capacity, if you have a case with good ventilation, i.e PSU wouldn't overheat, occasional (peak) 10-15% overloads are okay. That said if the most heavy applications you'll use this PC are games and 4k transcoding then you'll be more than good with this 750W PSU.
We don't know RTX3090 power draw yet but nVidia says it's 350W, probably a bit over that with OC'ing, plus 280-330W for TR 3970X, 750W PSU will be just below it's full capacity. Which isn't a bad thing unless you'll be folding on it 24/7/365. What this PC is used for ?

The majority of the time the only strenuous activity is occasional unraring and remuxing 4k video. There will be days I can see gaming for 10 hours straight though. But there also will be plenty of idle time. Idk if it matters, but I'm undecided on whether I'll be streaming games to my TV or running a 50' HDMI cord.
