GEforce 620 GT Driver Pegs Fan. irritating

new-to-me EVGA Geforce 620 GT low profile in a HP DC7900 SFF. all is well UNTIL the Nvidia driver [latest rev] loads up. Fan goes to 100% and stays there. Remove the driver or safe boot or whatever and its fine... idling along very quietly. How do I remedy this or is the driver just bad for the card? I have a near identical EVGA 630 GT that does not manifest this issue. same driver package.

Sometimes a driver update is not required. In this case revert to the previous driver that worked fine.
