i recently picked up a geforce 760 for decent price, but i dont know what kind of power supply i need for it. i have a 300 watt lying around but im pretty sure that wont cut it. any ideas? thanks.
Do not use the 300W it is not enough and won't have the necessary connectors. You're gonna want a decent 500W or more power supply with the required PCIe power connectors.

what about an evga 500watt? not sure exactly which one but the manual says its 500 watts and 80+ rated
What are your entire PC's specs? you have to take in mind every single component before making an estimation of how much wattage your entire system will consume, its mostly just cpu and gpu.. but everything matters
Use this watt calculator to see how much all your components consume
Good point, but considering he's using a 300W PSU right now I wouldn't figure it's anything power hungry. But nonetheless, please list all system specs.
