Hi everybody i got an Acer Aspire E5-574G,
It has an Nvidia GeForce 940m and the question is the database websites says that this gpu has 2GB of memory, however it shares 4GB right here, but well, it can't take more load than 2GB 😂
Soooo... anybody can explain how is this possible?
Thanks

Solution
If the GPU runs out of VRAM and needs to offload VRAM contents somewhere, it does so to system RAM. However it's counted towards the RAM usage of the application using the GPU, so you're not losing any RAM for general purpose use like you would with an integrated GPU.

If it's a 32-bit application, this sounds like it's hitting the default memory limit. Unless you mean once the VRAM usage goes over 2GB it crashes.
No, it doesn't crash, but for example in games, when i higher the graphics anywhere near 2GB, they start lagging, even though it shows there is 4GB of VRAM.
