GeForce Experience stuck on "Checking for updates."

Every time I open up GeForce experience, it gets stuck while checking for updates. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling with no luck. Any suggestions are appreciated.

reinstall the nvidia drivers and geforce experience manually it fixed the problem for me.
