Im having problems installing the card I keep getting (out of frequenzy) wen I boot up .
I was told it was my power supply so I changed to a 300 watts , but I still keep getting the same thing
does anyone know what it could be?
thanxz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's just say the 5200 isn't a GREAT card, so tell whomever you bought it from that it's defective and return it.

These days, no matter what company you like, be it nVidia, ATi, or whatever, no matter how logical your reasons, you're labeled an idiot or a fanboy, or both.

who told you it was your power supply? sounds like you wasted money because of what they told you, because you got a new one

the 5200 isnt the best value. if you want, return it as defective. but i recommend returning it for your money back and looking at some other options

the facts are no ati card comes close to from price point to being able to perform like this card and remeber it will run d9.0 games for about a year if u have an ati 9200 or less then ur not going to compete thats the facts

Agree with phial

well Phial, think about it,
whenever someone asks a question about
GeForce 4 MX
GeForce FX 5200
GeForce FX 5600
99% of the responses are
"return it and get a new card cause it suck monkey @$(@s"
and then 2 days later the newbie posts
"since u guys told me the card i got was crap, what should i get"
and stuff like
"R9500pro"
"R9600pro"
"R9700 non-pro"
"FX5600 Ultra Rev.2"
seriously guys, do u think everyone is willing to blow that much money away for video cards?? why do u think they bought budget cards in the first place!! Think about it!!
We should be helping people with problems, we're not salesmans......

Proud Owner the Block Heater
120% nVidia Fanboy
PROUD OWNER OF THE GEFORCE FX 5900ULTRA <-- I wish this was me
I'd get a nVidia GeForce FX 5900Ultra... if THEY WOULD CHANGE THAT #()#@ HSF

We're not salesman, that's true. Nonetheless, do you really think the 5200 is a good card? It's a dx9 card that will never run a dx9 game at decent fps. So it's just a bogus selling point if you ask me.

er *cough*

no im on not a salesman ffs. but, sinse he might have to rma his card, now is a good time to look at some better alternatives. your saying that if i have advise that might be valuable to him i shouldnt say it?

forgive my spelling. my fingers are working on slo-mo =/

Hey guys I wnet back to the store and asked the tech there ,and he told me to try the ATI card, so I got me a Radion 9200 and it works fine.
I got an Gateway computer so I dont wnat to spend to much money on it anyways.
Thax guys for your advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No probs, but it does explain why you had problems. OEM computers are the worst when it comes to upgrading, and it surprises me you were able to upgrade the PSU.

Still, good look with the new card, if it performs right! (quite odd it was stable and working after an nVidia card don't yall think?)

Oui, c'est bizarre...

It's your MoBo, the AGP slot doesn't give the voltage that the FX 5200 requires. I had that problem with my Radeon 9600pro, and had to exchange it for a 9500pro.

Huh?!
A 9600PRO is supposed to be less electrically demanding!

I'm fairly sure the 8500LE will spank the FX5200 in DX8 games.

i speak bad english and u did see that the ati cards under 9000 arnt even close, 9200 beats it on some bench marks maybe u should reread toms benchmarks in case u have a forgetfull memory ati fan?

Read them. 8500 beats 9000 and 5200 without AA or AF in UT 2003. And none of those 3 can get acceptable framerates with AA or AF enabled, so AA and AF benchmarks don't even matter.

I looked at the bench the 8500 wouldn't run (Gunmetal), and then looked at the framerates of the 5200. 6FPS is not playable so this benchmark is also irrelavent.

It seemed to run all the benchmarks in the VGA Charts 2, so until VGA Charts 3 gives me more to go on, I can't find any proof of the 5300 outperforming the 8500.

Do you have a link you'd like to show me?
