Does anyone have experience with the new GeforceFX 5700 Ultra, 128 cards? I'm in the market for a new card and I hear this is a good one for the price, much better than the 5600. the only negative i think, it only comes in 128 meg for now. I have always liked Geforce cards compared to ATI since I bought an ATI 2 years ago, and I had lots of problems with the card and drivers. I'd like to stick with what has worked well for me. thanks

I'll probably wait a couple weekes for prices to come down a bit. I just built a new pc on an Abit IC7-G board with a p4 2.8 oc'd to 3.2, WD raptor drive and a buch other high end new stuff, except my Vid card. I took my old Geforce4 Ti4600 out of my old PC, but now I'm wishing i didnt...My 3Dmark2003 scores are very low because the card doesn't support 8x AGP and DirctX 9.0 not well. anyways thanks for the input.

No hostility intended, but what part of ATI drivers still suck? I've been downloading all the new catalyst drivers the day they come out, and havn't had a single problem in any of my games. 3.8 never killed my monitor, I've playing COD just fine on 3.9 (havn't beat it yet, stupid university papers)

And just to counter that statement, Nvidia has had a lot of problems as well with the 40xx and 50xx. I would have to say in terms of suckiness.....they are both equal, although ATI is trying very hard to overcome this(vpu recovery anyone?)

No, in suckiness nVidia is way ahead. CS isn't serious, he's just an nVidiot wannabe! ATI is rock-solit pimp sh*t now, period. nVidia is not.

The FX5700 isn't a bad card though (although a 9600 Pro/XT will beat in in HL2:)), so go for it.

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?
Edited by Willamette_Sucks on 11/16/03 00:07 AM.

Ever played Flight Simulator 2004 with Catalyst 3.8? It's unplayable. Even though NVIDIA might not have the fastest DirectX 9 shaders, they do have great DirectX 8.1 performance (still 99% of all games) and their drivers don't have incompatibilities as far as I know.

Catalyst 3.8 was buggy, I admit. But what about nVidia 40 series drivers? Most them were like Cat3.8 or even worse
