I have an Asus M51AC desktop which has a GeForce GT 640 card connected to a 27" BenQ EW2740L running Windows 10. This system has worked perfectly for 2 years. Today I disconnected some cabling while installing a new PC sound system (power to all devices was off) and after reconnecting everything I cannot get any HDMI output from the card to the Benq. The monitor turns on, tries to connect that then an error message occurs: "HDMI no signaled detected". Here is what I have done so far:
Connected the HDMI cable from the Asus to a laptop - display works
Connected laptop to Benq with the same HDMI cable - display works
Connected a VGA cable from the Asus to the Benq - display works
Connected once again the HDMI cable from Asus to Benq - no display output
The Benq monitor has two HDMI ports and I checked the on screen monitor menu and it is set to the proper HDMI port. The graphics driver is up to date and device manager shows no problems. Therefore:
1. The HDMI cable is okay
2. The VGA output of the Geforce card works.
3. The Benq works with the laptop therefore nothing wrong with it.
4. Before this happened the Benq worked perfectly.
What could it be?
