Hi! I have a choice of between the following two laptops:
http://www.amazon.com/Inspiron-7537-Touchscreen-Generation-Processor/dp/B00K5AQQGW
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04810953

The Dell is better looking, has a better display, more ram, etc but I do indulge in some gaming from time to time and the HP looks to be a better deal for that. Basically, how big of a performance difference would it be between these two laptops? Which would you guys recommend? Thanks!

Honestly, the difference is incredible. The GT740M will get you an average of 13fps on battlefield on medium the 940M would get you 34fps average in the same benchmarks, but if you are willing to slaughter your setting and resolution for frames per second, go with the weaker dell. There are other variables though, does one have a much faster processor than the other? Better cooling? I also think that the HP would be a better buy overall because it has a 940M it seems much newer?

My 2 cents.

The GT750M is paired with an i7-4500U while the 940M is paired with an i7-6500U. I was mostly confused between the graphics cards because while the 750M is an older card its a GT card and since those are supposed to be better than the regular cards I wasn't sure how it would stack up against a newer non GT card. Thanks for your help though! If it's that big of a difference I'll definitely go with the 940M.

From the light research I did, the 750M seems to be the faster option, but not by a ton. GDDR5 vs. DDR3 is a potentially siginificant advantage. Its biggest handicap could be DX11 performance, but that only showed up in the 3DMark 11 benchmark. The extra CPU horsepower that you're getting in the HP, though... It's a tough call. My instinct says go with the Dell.
