[SOLVED] GeForce GTX 1050 Ti upgrade or fix?

I've been playing the Sims 4 now for several years and even got a new computer for the game to play. I am using an Intel i-52400 CPU @3.10 GHz with 11.96 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

As of today I see a visible difference in my game- fuzzy pixels, details that shouldn't be blurry or fuzzy. I cleaned/dusted the interior fans, downloaded the latest NVIDIA patch and none of my settings have changed. I've always had best settings/antialising on.

Can someone please recommend either a new compatible card replacement? It doesn't seem like I should be seeing this kind of degradation relatively shortly (+/- 2 years). TIA!

Have you tried stress testing your gpu yet? if not get this software https://geeks3d.com/furmark/kombustor/ run it for 30 minutes and turn on artifact scanner. Run it at 1080p or higher at fullscreen, If your artifact scanner says 0/0 after the test, then It's most likely not your gpu. Also watch it for artifacts. Artifacts are kinda like errors caused by instability, they often times might look like spider webs, or tons of lines exploding and going nuts etc, lighting issues too, or they might be less noticeable.

I hope those give you an idea of what artifacts are, so during the stress test you know what to look out for.

All this testing is to evaluate if it's your card or not essentially.

If you do end up needing to replace your GPU, I'd recommend a GTX 1650 Super (provided your power supply has a 8 pin or 6+2 pin power cable/connector available). If your power supply doesn't have that, a regular GTX 1650 is your best bet.
