Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry, I need to warn that I don't have a lot of knowledge in graphics cards. Please help me out if you can.

I'm looking to get a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB but I'm not sure if my PC will be compatible with it.

Contents of DxDiag.txt are in the spoiler

My concerns are:

  • Bus Interface
    Power Supply
    TDP
    BIOS?
Anything else I should be aware of?

Additionally, I don't quite understand the difference between the following model numbers, so I'm not sure for which one I should go for:

  • GV-N1060G1 GAMING-3GD (Geforce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming)
GV-N1060IXOC-3GD (Geforce GTX 1060 MINI ITX OC 3G)
GV-N1060WF2OC-3GD (Geforce GTX 1060 Windforce OC)

--- [Update]

Just saw that according to this chart my CPU will be semi-bottlenecked for GeForce GTX 1060.

Would it generally be better to get something cheaper like Radeon RX 550 or GeForce GTX 1050 in my case instead? Not sure if that would have a bottleneck though.

Solution

then it comes down to your power supply and case

you need to open it and measure for max gpu length

and then also check the specs of your power supply, 450w or better and make sure it has at least a 6-pin pcie cable

the g1 requires a 8-pin

Thank you for your reply.

Is there a proper way to tell if I have UEFI?

I went through steps described in this article and according to it I have UEFI.
In addition, when I go to BIOS (Aptio Setup Utility), I have the UEFI selected for the "Boot mode select" option.
