Hello,

I'm having a problem with my Geforce GTX 480.

Whenever I launch a game, after playing for 5 to 10 minutes, my pc starts making a beeping sound, and stops beeping after I exit the game. At that moment, I find my graphics card's temperature between 60 to 70 degrees Celsius, and physically touching the card I can tell it's running very hot.

The hardware monitor shows that the fans of the graphics card are running at 2460 RPM.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Here are the specs of my PC:
- EVGA Geforce GTX 480
- Intel Core i5 2320
- 4 GB RAM DDR3
- Thermaltake 1000W PSU
- Motherboard Intel DH61WW
- 3 Thermaltake fans

Solution
That's pretty chilly for Fermi. Typically they run in the high 80C range and it's fine. Unless your touching VRMs or Mosfets, don't rely on your fingers as a temp sensor.

As for the beeping, can you figure out where it's coming from? Is it coming from the PSU, motherboard, or Graphics card?

It turned out the beeping wasn't related to overheating, but to overload. Anyway I just wanted to get an idea on what temperature range is acceptable for my graphics card. Thanks for the help.
